A net worth certificate is a Chartered Accountant's certified statement of your assets minus liabilities as on a date. Only a practising ICAI CA can issue it, and it must carry an 18-digit UDIN. It is used for loans, tenders, demat, franchise, legal matters and visas.
Net worth certificate: what you need to know
The formula is simple: net worth equals total assets minus total liabilities. What gives the certificate its weight is the CA's verification and the 18-digit UDIN, which together make it acceptable to banks, embassies, SEBI, tender boards and courts.
| What it is | CA-certified statement of net worth on a date |
|---|---|
| Formula | Total assets minus total liabilities |
| Issued by | Practising ICAI CA with a Certificate of Practice |
| Authentication | 18-digit UDIN (mandatory since 1 July 2019) |
| Government fee | None; CA professional fee only |
| Validity | No universal validity; set by the requesting institution |

What causes rejection - and how we avoid it
No UDIN
A certificate without a valid 18-digit UDIN is rejected. Ours always carries one.
Inflated property values
Overstated values trigger suspicion. We use defensible, market-aligned figures.
Wrong reference date
A tender asking for net worth as on a specific date will reject a different date. We confirm it first.
Omitting liabilities
Leaving out loans misstates net worth. We capture all liabilities.
Self-prepared statement
A statement you prepare yourself has no legal standing. Only an ICAI CA can certify.
Outdated valuation
Stale property valuations weaken the file. We refresh valuations close to the reference date.
