Correction
Change name, date of birth or address - same PAN, new card.
- Form PAN CR-01 / CR-02
- Supporting proof for the changed field
- PAN number stays the same
- Needed to change photo or signature
From 1 April 2026, PAN corrections use two new forms: PAN CR-01 for individuals and PAN CR-02 for non-individuals, notified under Rule 158(12). Use a correction to change name, date of birth or address; use a reprint to get a duplicate card with the same details.

PAN correction / reprint
Anyone with wrong PAN data or a lost card
Timeline
15-20 working days (card)
A PAN correction changes data such as name, date of birth or address and reissues the card with the same PAN number, while a reprint reissues a duplicate card using the photograph and signature already on file. From 1 April 2026, corrections use Form PAN CR-01 (individuals) or PAN CR-02 (non-individuals) under Rule 158(12) of the Income-tax Rules 2026, and your details should match Aadhaar where applicable.
TL;DR
From 1 April 2026, correct PAN data using Form PAN CR-01 (individuals) or CR-02 (non-individuals). A correction changes data and keeps the same PAN; a reprint reissues the same card. To change a photo or signature you must file a correction, not a reprint.
PAN CR-01
The 2026 PAN correction form for individuals, under Rule 158(12).
PAN CR-02
The 2026 PAN correction form for non-individuals (entities).
Correction
Changes PAN data (name, DOB, address) and reissues the card with the same PAN.
Reprint
Reissues a duplicate card with the existing details, photo and signature.
Change name, date of birth or address - same PAN, new card.
Re-order a card for a lost or damaged PAN with no data change.
01
We confirm whether you need a correction (data change) or a reprint (same data, new card).
02
Individuals file PAN CR-01; non-individuals file PAN CR-02 under Rule 158(12).
03
We attach supporting proof for the changed field; Aadhaar alone may not suffice for a DOB change.
