Option 1: a US commercial bank
Holds your deposits itself.
- FDIC insurance applies only if the bank is FDIC-insured.

US Business Bank Account
US LLCs and C-Corps owned from India that need to receive USD, pay US vendors and connect a payment gateway.
Timeline
Timeline depends on the provider
We prepare and submit business account applications for US-incorporated entities to US commercial banks and to online banking platforms that work with a partner bank. Between them they cover USD receipts by ACH and wire, multi-currency balances, cards and connections to payment gateways and accounting tools.
ACH
Automated Clearing House: the US domestic bank transfer network. Most US customers pay by ACH, so a US account number matters more than a SWIFT code.
Beneficial Ownership
Under FinCEN's customer due diligence rule a bank identifies each individual who directly or indirectly owns 25% or more of the equity interests of a legal entity customer, plus one individual with significant responsibility to control or manage it. It is done when the entity first opens an account. Since 13 February 2026 a bank no longer has to repeat it every time an existing entity customer opens another account.
Receiving USD in India instead
If you export from India and are paid in USD into an Indian account, you need an import export code, not a US account.
Holds your deposits itself.
The platform gives you the account; the money sits at a partner bank.
Collects money from your customers.
There are two kinds of provider, and they are not interchangeable.
A US commercial bank holds your deposits itself. If it is FDIC-insured, deposit insurance covers up to US$250,000 per depositor, per FDIC-insured bank, for each account ownership category.
An online banking platform is usually not a bank. It gives you the account interface and holds the money at a partner bank. Whether your balance is insured depends on which bank holds it, because FDIC insurance covers deposits only if the bank is FDIC-insured. Ask the provider which bank, and get it in writing.
Which providers currently onboard foreign-owned US entities changes, sometimes with no notice. We do not publish a fixed list for that reason. At the start of your engagement we tell you which banks and platforms are accepting applications like yours that month, and we apply to the ones that fit. Once the account is live, we can run your monthly bookkeeping in USD and INR.
1
Entity type, ownership and what the business actually does.
2
EIN letter, formation certificate, operating agreement or bylaws, owner ID and address proof.
3
Submitted, then we answer the provider's follow-up questions.
4
Decision from the provider. If approved, we help you fund it and connect your gateway.
Upload through our secure portal. We check every document against the provider's checklist before we submit.
Every application is the same pack, assembled without contradictions:
| Item | What it has to be |
|---|---|
| EIN letter | The IRS letter for the entity applying. No EIN, no application: set up a US LLC first if you do not have one |
| Formation document | Certificate of Formation or Certificate of Incorporation from the state, matching the entity name exactly |
| Governing document | Operating agreement for an LLC, bylaws for a corporation, signed |
| Registered agent or business address | The address on the state record |
| Owner identification | Passport for every beneficial owner, plus proof of address |
| Ownership disclosure | Each individual who owns 25% or more of the equity, plus one person who controls or manages the entity |
| Business description | What you sell, to whom, and where the money comes from |
Applications fail on mismatches more than on merits. A name spelled differently on the EIN letter and the state certificate, an address that does not match the state record, or a business description that does not fit the answers on the form, will all cost you weeks. We check each document against the provider's own checklist before submitting.
The decision itself belongs to the provider. It is not published, it is not appealable and we do not promise it.
| Item | Regikart professional fee | Government fee |
|---|---|---|
| US business bank account application support | From ₹4,999 | No government fee |
| EIN, where the entity does not have one | Quoted with your LLC or Delaware C-Corp setup | Free. The IRS charges no fee for an EIN |
Some providers charge their own account or card fees. Those are the provider's, not ours, and they are set out before you apply.
Owning a US entity from India creates reporting, and it starts before the account does.
Speak to your AD bank before the money leaves India. If an Indian company is paying the US entity for services, check whether Form 15CA and 15CB apply. We keep these dates on your compliance calendar.
Not sure whether your entity will qualify? Talk to a CA and we will look at your case before you apply.
