Udyam Registration in HyderabadFree on the government portal, ₹499 if we file it for you
Hyderabad runs on bulk drugs and pharmaceuticals, life sciences, IT services and engineering. The bulk drug and API belt around Jeedimetla, Patancheru and Cherlapally is mostly small and medium units supplying larger formulation companies. Those buyers lose their tax deduction for the year if they pay a registered micro or small supplier late, so they ask for a current Udyam certificate before releasing a purchase order.

Udyam registration is free. Everywhere.
The Ministry of MSME states that Udyam registration is zero cost and that udyamregistration.gov.in is the only official portal. Registration, updates, corrections and cancellation are all free. Any amount charged by an intermediary, including ours, is a professional fee for advisory and filing work, not a government levy. A large share of page-one search results are private sites charging what they present as a government fee for a free process.

Which office does what for a Hyderabad MSME
No Hyderabad office issues a Udyam certificate. The filing runs centrally on udyamregistration.gov.in, validated against Aadhaar, PAN and GST data, so there is no counter in the city and nobody local who can speed it up. What is local is everything around it.
The Facilitation Council is the state's. A registered micro or small enterprise whose buyer pays late can make a reference under section 18 of the MSMED Act to the Micro and Small Enterprises Facilitation Council constituted by the Government of Telangana under section 20. You file it through the MSME Samadhaan portal, and the Council conciliates and then arbitrates. An unregistered supplier has to go to a civil court instead.
Your company filings did not move in 2026. Hyderabad is one of the few cities in this batch that the Ministry of Corporate Affairs reorganisation left alone. ROC Hyderabad keeps its existing jurisdiction and the Regional Director (South East Region) stays in Hyderabad. That is worth knowing because ten other ROC offices were re-notified with effect from 1 January 2026 and the new offices became operational on 16 February 2026. One caution: Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep moved to a new Regional Director at Bangalore on that date, so anything that previously routed Karnataka work through Hyderabad no longer does.
The Telangana cost layer around Udyam
Udyam itself is free. These are the Telangana registrations that sit alongside it, and they are the reason a Hyderabad MSME rarely has just one.
Profession tax runs on the state's own portal. Telangana levies it under the Telangana Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1987, administered by the Commercial Taxes Department. New registrations, payments and returns go through the department's profession tax module at ptax.tgct.gov.in, reached from the Profession Tax tab on tgct.gov.in. Telangana works on two footings: registration for an employer deducting from salaries, and enrolment for the business or professional in its own right. Telangana does not use the PTEC and PTRC labels that Maharashtra and Karnataka do, so ask for registration or enrolment by name. Whatever the schedule says for your salary band, no person can be charged more than ₹2,500 a year, which is the constitutional ceiling under Article 276(2). We confirm your band from the department's current schedule rather than quoting one here.
Shops and establishments. Registration is under the Telangana Shops and Establishments Act, 1988 (Act No. 20 of 1988) with the Telangana Shops and Establishments Rules, 1990, through the Labour Department at labour.telangana.gov.in. Telangana is a registration state, not an intimation state: there is a certificate at the end of it.
The municipal position changed in February 2026, and most pages have not caught up. Hyderabad used to be one corporation. In February 2026 Telangana reorganised the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation into three corporations: GHMC with 150 wards, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation with 76 wards and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation with 74 wards. GHMC still exists, with a smaller jurisdiction, so it is not wrong to name it. It is wrong to say it covers all of Hyderabad. Which corporation licenses your premises now depends on which of the three it falls in, and a Gachibowli address may sit with Cyberabad rather than GHMC. We confirm the corporation from the premises before any municipal trade licence application, and we do not publish a ward map because the ward-to-corporation allocation is not something we can verify for you.
TS-iPASS at ipass.telangana.gov.in is Telangana's single-window industrial approval system, if your activity needs state clearances at all.
What a Hyderabad business usually needs alongside Udyam
Udyam reads your turnover from GST records and your investment from income tax records, so those come first: see GST registration if you are not registered, and income tax return filing for the figures the portal reads. Most Hyderabad employers then need a Telangana profession tax registration and registration under the 1988 shops law (shop and establishment registration). If you make or handle food, FSSAI registration is separate again.
How we work with Hyderabad clients
Regikart has no Hyderabad office. Our offices are Kolkata (head office), Delhi and Bengaluru, and Hyderabad work is done remotely from them. Send your Aadhaar and PAN details, last return and GST turnover summary on WhatsApp at +91 70444 94804 or by email to [email protected]. We confirm your category, file on the official portal and send back the Udyam Registration Number and e-certificate. None of it needs anyone to be physically in Hyderabad.
What Udyam registration means for a Hyderabad business
Udyam registration is the Government of India's online MSME registration under the MSMED Act, 2006, issuing a permanent Udyam Registration Number and an e-certificate to a micro, small or medium enterprise.
It is filed centrally on udyamregistration.gov.in and validated against Aadhaar, PAN and GSTN data. Investment is drawn from income tax records and turnover from GST records, which means the figures you declare must reconcile with what you have already filed.
For Hyderabad specifically, the certificate does two things. It makes the enterprise visible to buyers in Jeedimetla, Balanagar, Cherlapally, Patancheru and Gachibowli, many of whom now ask for a Udyam Registration Number before they onboard a vendor. And it gives a micro or small enterprise standing before the Micro and Small Enterprises Facilitation Council constituted by the Government of Telangana, so a late-paying buyer can be taken to conciliation and arbitration instead of to a civil court.
The composite classification test
| Category | Investment | Turnover |
|---|---|---|
| Micro | up to ₹2.5 crore | up to ₹10 crore |
| Small | up to ₹25 crore | up to ₹100 crore |
| Medium | up to ₹125 crore | up to ₹500 crore |
Ceilings revised with effect from 1 April 2025. The test is composite: an enterprise falls in a category only if both its investment and its turnover are within that category’s ceilings, and breaching either one moves it up. Export turnover is excluded from the turnover computation, and land and building are excluded from investment.
Who needs Udyam registration in Hyderabad
Hyderabad enterprises operating in Jeedimetla, Balanagar, Cherlapally, Patancheru and Gachibowli are the core population.
What Regikart handles
Delayed payments and the Telangana Facilitation Council
A registered micro or small enterprise can make a reference under section 18 of the MSMED Act to the Micro and Small Enterprises Facilitation Council constituted by the Government of Telangana, which conciliates and then arbitrates the dispute. Registration is what gives you access to that route; an unregistered enterprise has to sue in the ordinary way.
Documents required
The registration is Aadhaar-based and paperless: there are no document uploads. The portal validates against Aadhaar, PAN and GSTN data directly, which means the investment and turnover figures you declare must reconcile with what you have already filed.

Get the classification right the first time
The filing itself is quick. What costs businesses is a category computed wrongly, units registered as duplicate URNs instead of branches, or a registration that was never updated after the turnover moved. We compute the composite test from your filed ITR and GST returns before anything is submitted.
